Head of Design
2022–present
After seven wonderful years, I left Focus Lab to run my own design practice again. Finch was one of my first clients and we worked so well together, that they asked me to join as their first designer.
After years of working with software companies from the outside, I joined Finch to see how much impact my work can have on the inside.
I currently lead design across brand, web, and product, while using my expertise of communications, processes, and the B2B tech landscape.
Design Director
2018–2021
Brand and UI Designer
2016–2018
After contracting with Focus Lab for two years, I joined their team full-time in 2016 as a Brand and UI designer. My specialties include designing marketing sites and strategic brand identities. My favorite work includes the StoryBots app redesign (RIP) and designing the app for the world’s first crowdfarming platform.
In 2018 I became Focus Lab’s first Design Director. Along with being an individual contributor, I helped lead our talented design team. I loved mentoring and nuturing designers in their careers and fostering collaboration in a remote setting. I also maintained a culture of design excellence, continually improving our design operations and processes.
Co-Founder
2017–present
In 2017 I co-founded Evermorn Supply, a DTC Christian paper company with my wife. We design, print, and sell cards, posters, and planners.
Content Creator, Lead Designer
2015–2019
In 2015, Focus Lab launched Sidecar (RIP), a learning resource for young designers and a marketplace for design tools. This included selling digital products, writing tons of blog posts, and starting YouTube tutorials.
In 2019, I led the content planning, production, and redesign of Sidecar 2.0 that never launched due to shifting business goals.
Helping this audience of designers has been some of the most fulfilling work of my career.
2005–present
I’ve been freelancing in some capacity for the past fifteen years. I’ve worked with companies of all sizes in designing brand identities and marketing sites.
Every year I try to take on a pro bono project to help organizations whose mission I believe in. I know the impact good design has on a company, especially for those who can’t afford it.
Case studies coming soon. For now, check out my most recent work on Dribbble.
